To my Owen,
I can't believe it's been a whole year since I last posted an entry in this blog. Time flies! In the past year, you got a new baby brother! Mason is about 3 months old right now. Ever since we brought him home from the hospital, you were so interested in him and always wanted to see Mason. First thing in the morning, you would ask for Mason. When you came home from daycare, you would ask to see Mason. These days, you have been a great helper by bringing Masons's diapers to mommy during diaper changes, and helping me heat up Mason's milk and even testing the temperature afterwards. At the same time, you love to poke Mason's eyes and cheeks. You sometimes even hit him in the head/face (pretty hard!). You also began pulling his hair, and you try to sit on him when he is in the swing. Sometimes you will also vigorously shake the swing. You know 100% that it is wrong, and sometimes you check to see if we are watching, or you will give us a little sly smile before you hit him. You are lucky that Mason does not get so upset - he just takes your hits like a champ. Sometimes, he will frown, but he will get over it fast.
You have also hit so many milestones, and are learning new things each day. You know the ABC song, can count to 10 (sometimes you skip 5, 6, and 7 though), and you still love books. You have some books memorized by now. You've been reading a lot of Dr. Seuss books these days (The Foot Book, Fish out of Water, Cat in the Hat). You can also recognize letters correctly, and associate them with animals/objects (ie H for Hippo, J for Jellyfish, A for Alligator). We bought you a Vtech laptop for your birthday, and you learned what each letter stands for through this. You love that laptop.
You also have been LOVING our phones these day. You understand that it needs to be unlocked for you to get into apps. You love looking at pictures stored on our phone, and naming everyone in the photo. You also accidentally shared a google album of your great grandmother's pictures for Daddy's boss. Oh dear. You also know how to get into the google play music app and turn on songs. Your favorite song right now is Good Good Father by Chris Tomlin. You have 3 toy guitars, and you will tune them, play them, and sing. After you are done singing, you will proceed to pray "Dear God...". It cracks us up! You observed it during our church service, and seeing how it made an impression on you makes Mommy and Daddy so proud and happy.
You also started Sunday School at church about 3 weeks ago. The first time we dropped you off, you cried for a bit but then started playing with the toys and became engaged. Now you are getting better at drop off, and will still get a little teary-eyed but quickly become okay.
Mommy and Daddy just want you to know how much we are enjoying you right now. You crack us up by saying the cutest and funniest things. We think this is the best stage. We love you much.
Love,
Mommy
